What the School of the Prospection?

The school of detection is an association law 1901 published in the Official Journal on January 08, 1997 pennies number 2134. Its goals are:

To facilitate in a real will of exchange the steps of declaration of discoveries, sites or objects being able to interest art, the history, archaeology or the numismatics. To better do to know and promote the prospection in all its forms and the detection of leisure.

The respect, the study, the protection and the defense of the Archaeological and Historical inheritance, the protection of the hidden inheritance, as well as the backup of all objects or other being able to represent a local, regional or national interest.

To promote the contacts with all people, associations, organizations and/or private organizations or forming part of the administration, in order to allow to identify and to carry out all common actions intended to advance the study, the connaisssance, the protection and the safeguarding of any trace on our planet, the presence of civilizations now disappeared. This association was creates by a group of prospectors eager to make move the things and with a nonlucrative aim

Then why not you ' Some of our members who have more than fifteen years of detections learned much from things to our contact (they did not believe it in the beginning). Our association publishes a bulletin (photocopies of numerical quality) in which one finds quantity of tricks and easy ways and truths articles on detection. You will not read anything on the treasure hacker " mâchin " of the island of Gogos, and you will not be told history of Trézors with Z (like NINNY). One will learn how to you to correctly use a detector and especially one will inform you on the real performances of the apparatuses (the truth finally). The contribution is 360,00F at the year and include/understand a legal insurance 24h/24 and 7 days a week, of the reductions on the apparatuses (between 10 and 20%) and of the reductions on the subscriptions of certain reviews. Finally and any reflected good, imagine what you will gain with being member of the school of detection... You will form part then perhaps part a day of this association which gathers serious people (who do not leave during the night) eager to collaborate with archaeologists...

An association not like the others

L?association was born in 1996, and involving in its wake of many people sharing same passion and same waitings. We decided to create this association mainly for three reasons:

1 / To create relations with the representatives of l?archeology so d?établir, in a real will d?échange, an honest collaboration, and especially, facilitating the steps of declaration of sites, d?objets or discoveries.

2 / To show with the public authorities and other administrations which we can very well contribute effectively to back up our inheritance with l?aide detectors, while respecting the rights of the owner of the ground, l?environnement, and l?archeology.

3 / To help the users of metal detectors in their proposer an assistance, whatever the problem encountered and as from the moment when they are in good faith. When we say to help, c?est really to help. To learn how to the beginners to use a detector correctly. We want, and we will be able, in condition many d?être, to revalorize l?image of mark of detection. Indeed, if these last years were profitable for the salesmen of metal detectors, they n?ont be very good for us others, prospectors. That is mainly due to the emissions of television which do not show alas, that with dimensions lucrative the or ludic one of detection, blowing step a word on the prospectors wishing to take part in a better knowledge of our inheritance.

It is enough to a little common sense to make evolve/move detection: it little to bring much, so much the advantages and the possibilities of the detectors multiple and is varied. It is easy with l?expérience which we have, to think of another detection for France. For example, if we do not take guard to count the places and what find there we, all this «work »will be lost at the time of «the d?activity suspension »of the prospector. It falls under the direction qu?un responsible archaeologist to draw up l?inventaire sites, would like to know these places.

With our apparatuses, we can become invaluable auxiliaries for l?archeology and it is quite obvious that if we adopted all the English method the administrative archaeological ones would profit d?une d?informations source different, free and new. In our country, the number of prospectors not ceasing growing, one will need a day or l?autre well to collaborate together.

In France, the reasons not to cross, not to meet and thus s?ignorer are numerous:

- As a l?archeologist, l?agacement has two principal origins: Strict plundering of the archeological sites known, or in the course of excavations, which upsets and occults stratigraphy and deprives it of l?étude of these objects. In the second place, l?archeologist, just like the numismatist, measures the scientific damage of the not-declaration of discovered d?objets or currencies carried out fortuitously.

The first case does not relate to qu?un a negligible number prospectors, «d?irréductibles »who seem «irremediable »in spite of the teaching efforts and which discredit l?ensemble prospectors. For the second, an intelligent collaboration must installation. Indeed, if the lawful aspects are respected, one can reasonably think that the discovery of new sites, and sometimes a better knowledge of those already identified, could satisfy the archaeologists like the prospectors.

Better before posing its detector some share is worth to get information! It is also necessary to compose with the constraints related to our passion (bad weather, ground not inevitably good due to mineralisation, detector less powerful than in publicity, cold ground or hard ground because of the dryness, etc).

Electromagnetic detection n?est not l?archeology. Only to use one detector can bring to discover objects which will interest of the archaeologists. We want simply to make become aware with our «detractors »that detection should not make indignant the prospector (if not they give reason to the irreducible cities higher), but must be regarded as an addition valid and additional with what is known. All this can function only subject to bilaterally held guarantees. Thus we will make our contribution to a better knowledge of our common inheritance, and to good to think of it, it there with always solutions with the problems.

The proof: we declared ten archeological sites in island of France and a deposit of axes with casings of l?âge of bronze in Normandy. Archaeologists said to us to be very content to d?avoir worked with us and d?autres encouraged to continue in this way. True C?est, we had to reverse the vapor.
